SMS Opt-In Workflow

This page documents exactly how recipients consent to receive SMS messages from Jaxon. Jaxon is a private, personal reminder program — not a marketing service. It is not offered to the public and has no online sign-up form; consent is given directly, in person, by each of the two individuals who receive messages.

Opt-in type: verbal / in-person (first-party consent)

There are only two recipients: the account owner (Kevin Jones) and one designated family member who acts as a personal medical backup contact. Each recipient:

  1. provides their own mobile number directly to the operator, in person;
  2. is told the program sends recurring appointment and medication-preparation reminders, that message frequency varies, that message and data rates may apply, and that they can reply STOP at any time to cancel or HELP for help;
  3. verbally agrees, at that moment, to receive the messages.

No phone number is ever obtained from a third party, a purchased list, or a lead source. There is no public or web-based sign-up. Consent is exclusively first-party and given face to face.

Verbal consent script

The operator uses this spoken script at the moment a recipient provides their number:

Operator: "I'd like to send you Jaxon reminder texts about your upcoming medical appointments and the preparation steps before them. It's recurring text messages; message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to cancel, or HELP for help. Our terms are at jaxonscheduler.com/terms.html and our privacy policy at jaxonscheduler.com/privacy-policy.html. Do you agree to receive these text messages — yes or no?"

Recipient: "Yes."

Operator: "Thank you — you're enrolled. I'll text this number with your reminders, and you can reply STOP anytime to stop."

Consent is recorded only when the recipient explicitly answers "yes." A recipient who declines is not added.

Disclosures given at opt-in

Jaxon sends recurring appointment & medication reminders. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.

Mobile information and messaging consent are never shared, sold, or provided to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Sample message

"Jaxon reminder: radiation session 3 of 20 at 10:00am today. Empty bladder, then drink 32 oz water 75 minutes before. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
